A year ago, I was inspired by fantastic people in the community like my dear wife Kannah, my now friend and hero Ruty Rutenberg, and others like Matt Mercer, Krystina Arielle, Satine Phoenix, and many more who advocate for love and compassion into our D&D community. Love is central to community and the people in it. As the capstone is of this subclass suggests, love conquers all.
Special Scott Brown, from the RPGAcademy (@geowtf) gave me some pretty great advice as to how to thematically approach the subclass and this is the product of it, because love is not something that is enchanted, charmed, or taken. Love is a verb for caring. With Scott’s help this subclass came to be.
Love Domain
While most confuse the principles of the love domain for that of being lustful, it instead promotes the bonds of compassion and unconditional love. Love domain clerics practice a compassionate love that promotes peace, fellowship, and interpersonal connection. Though romantic love is surely not forgotten by them, as they often learn romance and the bonds it forms can be some of the most powerful instances of the acts of love. Clerics of the love domain channel those positive bonds in action and use their will to protect and strengthen their allies.
